Evening June 17. We had a much easier day today. 80 percent of the pedaling today was gentle downhill following next to the beautiful Laird River. Riding next to the river made it easier for Cliff to tell if the road was going up or down though once he asked why that river was going uphill! The few hills that we did have made my legs squeal like a little pig in that they were so sore from yesterday’s mountain climb. Super weather today. We saw a bunch of wild buffalo and I got super pictures. We saw another big black bear who just sat by the road and watched us as we slowly rode by. Saw a bunch more stone sheep as well. We are camping tonight at Laird Hot Springs. There is a hot springs pool here that is absolutely amazing. If you go up to the head of it is unbearably hot and as you move down it gets cooler though the coolest place is probably 102. There is a dam that makes the pool and I went below the dam and sat under the 2 foot waterfall and let it come down right on my shoulders and then bent forward a bit and it came down on my back. A wonderful massage. When we finally got out I was like a limp rag. I could barely walk. We got out an hour ago and I am still sweating. Cliff is talking about going back up (1/4 mile walk) right before going to bed so he could sleep well. I am still so wrung out from the last sit in it that I think I will pass. The flat tire I had this morning seems to be miraculously healed. We pumped it up this morning and it was still good this evening. We will see what it looks like in the morning. Don't forget to send me some texts when you get a chance. I love getting them. Someone give an update on NFL.
