Broken in by elevation

Whooooeeeeee! Am I tired!

45 miles, 80% up hill. Gained about 800 ft elevation for the day. A lot of long 6 degree upgrades, a few 8 degrees, and 2 that were 10 degrees. They were both about 2 miles long and we got off and walked our bikes. It was nice to use different muscles.

It rained hard most of the day. The rain wasn't bad but the spray from the trucks when they passed was a challenge. I am now sitting in the laundry room at Robbers Roost campground just before Quensnel. Spent 2 dollars in the shower. 1 dollar gives you 5 minutes. It was super hot and lots of volume. Boy did that feel goooood.

It isn't raining right now so we are going to try and get our tents set up. I made a big mistake. I didn't bring a belt for my pants. They already are getting to big for me. By the time we get to Fairbanks I will have to hold them up with one hand as I walk! Yippee!

Cliff was about 20 feet ahead of me when the sign for campground came up. He pedaled right on by. All the rain had made it so he couldn't see through his glasses. I yelled like crazy but he was listening to some sermons with ear phones in. I pedaled like crazy to catch him and about had a heart attack! This is a very nice campground and we should be good and rested for a 50 mile day tomorrow. Hopefully the bottle of ibuprofen I took does its job. Love ya. Dee
